Trina- Owner of Artsee Eyewear.  Licensed Optician, Broadmead Manager.

I first fell in love with the optical industry in 1991 while working after school and weekends for a local Optometrist. TrinaThree years later, I went on to complete my Optician training and moved onto Hale Optical to become the youngest person to manage an optical store in a chain of 75 stores. In 1998, I was approached by Brian Maycock to buy a franchise of Maycock Optical in the Broadmead Village. In 2007, I had an irresistible opportunity to open a second location in the Oak Bay Village. Sensing changes amidst within the franchise, I made the decision to open under a new name, artSEE eyewear. In 2009, the franchise arrangement concluded and the Broadmead location became the 2nd artSEE eyewear location. The change to artSEE has allowed me to really spread my wings and put my hallmark on the business.

I enjoy pairing up our beautiful frames with the perfect person. I have a deep understanding of lens optics and use my knowledge and expertise to help you understand your highly technical choices in a clear, relatable way. I love to problem solve and the challenges a difficult prescription presents.

Steve- Licensed Optician, Contact Lens Fitter, Oakbay Manager.

Steve is a Dean’s List Graduate of Georgian College’s Dispensing Optician Program. A licensed Optician and Island resident since 1988, Steve has worked with Trina since 2001.  Steve’s wide and varied work experience enables him to expertly ascertain his client’s eyewear needs and find solutions.

Chrissy- Licensed Optician, Broadmead Assistant Manager.

I have recently graduated, with honors, from NAIT University’s 2 year Opticianry program!  Although I have been in the industry since the year 2000, and was previously a certified Optometric Assistant, I wanted to take my skill set and expertise to the next level.  Working here with Trina, since 2007, has really allowed me to spread my wings and embrace the art and science of the optical industry as well as using my people skills to assist with the managerial aspects.

Prior to my work in optical, I earned my Diploma in the Visual Arts.  My creative and artistic eye is a fantastic asset in helping our clients find eyewear that not only suits their facial features, but their overall style as well.

I love to help people find eyewear that they love to put on every day and that they can rave about from an optical stand point.  I think what I truly love the MOST though, is the fun we all have and the relationships that we build with our clients…that’s just good stuff! :-P
