FEE SCHEDULE:
Children (0-12yrs): Free!!! Once a year, no strings attached as long as you are covered with BC Medical- just book them and bring them:)
Youth (13-18yrs): Patient portion is $20.00, BC Medical will cover the balance once a year.
Adults (19-64yrs): $97.00
Seniors (65+ yrs): Your portion is $50.00, BC Medical will pay balance once every year.
Contact lens wearers:
Add $15.00 to above costs to assess the fit of the current lenses you are wearing (extra cost as this takes a longer appointment).
Add $40.00 if you need to be fit with a new type of single vision contact lens than you are currently wearing. (This will cover extra appointment time, trial contacts, and return appointments to assess new fit.)
If you have never worn contact lenses before, call us for a quote on fitting fees as they range with the type of lens and type of wearer.
Exceptions: The following are other cases where a Third Party may also pay a portion of your exam:
- - If you have been previously assessed by your eye doctor as having a health/ocular condition which BC Medical partially covers for or if your GP has referred you due to a health/ocular condition which is partially covered through MSP.
- -If you need to come in for minor check ups (foreign object in eye, infection etc.)
- -DVA covers, in many cases, the patient portion of your eye exam.
- -DIA will cover a portion of the exam every 2 calendar years.
- -Social Services will cover a portion of the exam every 2 calendar years.
